Masashi Yazawa is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Political Science and Economics, School of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University. He holds a Master in Political Science from Waseda University (1993) and is affiliated with multiple academic societies including the Japan Association for British Philosophy and Society for Social and Political Thought.
- Research Focus: History of political thought, liberalism, democratic theory, constitutionalism, and bioethics.
- Key Themes: Moral foundations of welfare policies, deliberative democracy, feminist political theory, and global labor justice.
His publications include translations and commentaries on John Rawls, Martha Nussbaum, and other liberal theorists. He has led research projects funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science on topics like Republican Constitutionalism and Democracy in Aging Societies. Yazawa teaches courses on contemporary political philosophy and normative research methods at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
