Mas'ud Ibrahim serves as a Senior Lecturer in Accounting within the School of Economics, Finance and Accounting at Coventry Business School, Faculty of Business and Law, Coventry University. He joined Coventry University in 2015 after holding various teaching roles at different universities both in the UK and abroad.
Dr. Ibrahim's research focuses on the dynamic relationships between key players in energy markets and their influence on energy price formation, with particular emphasis on international accounting standards for extractive industries. His expertise spans financial reporting, earnings management, value relevance, accounting education, International Financial Reporting Standards convergence, and accounting earnings & accruals quality.
As a qualified chartered accountant (ACA 2007), he has successfully prepared students for professional qualifications. He serves as module leader for postgraduate and undergraduate dissertations/research methods (M99EFA/M25EFA/M21EFA & 385ACC) and financial statements analysis (M17EFA). He has supervised PhD students in various accounting areas and served as independent chair in viva sessions.
His teaching responsibilities include Advanced Study for Accounting and Finance (385ACC), Financial Reporting and Analysis (280ACC), Advanced Management Accounting (M09EFA), Financial Statement Analysis (M17EFA), and Research Methods in Finance (M21EFA). He has published in the Petroleum Accounting and Financial Management journal and is working on additional research outputs in collaboration with academics both within and outside Coventry University.
