Maróth Miklós

Miklós Maróth is a renowned academic and professor of Classical and Semitic Philology at Pázmány Péter Catholic University (1992–2013). He has held significant administrative roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Humanities (1992–1999) and President of the Governing Board of the Eötvös Loránd Research Network since 2021. His career includes leadership positions at the Avicenna Institute for Middle Eastern Studies (2002) and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, including roles as Head of the Centre for Classical Studies (1988) and President of the Department of Linguistic and Literature (2005–2008).

His research focuses on Classical Philology, Literary Theory, Greek Philosophy, Linguistics, and Arabic Studies. He has been recognized with prestigious memberships and honors, including full membership in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and leadership roles in international academic organizations like the Union Académique Internationale (Vice-President, 2006–2007; President, 2007).
