Dr. María J. García Otero serves as the Croft Instructional Associate Professor of Spanish and Co-Director of the Croft Spanish language program at the University of Mississippi. She is affiliated with both the Department of Modern Languages and the Croft Institute for International Studies. Holding a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas (2012) and prior degrees from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, her research focuses on Medieval and Early Modern Iberian studies, including hagiography, religious iconography, and Castilian geopolitical history.
