María Cecilia Dedios is an Assistant Research Professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of Mental Health. She is affiliated with the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit (IIRU) and contributes to interdisciplinary research on mental health and violence prevention. Her work focuses on leveraging participatory and mixed-methods approaches in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) to address youth-related mental health challenges through a social determinants lens.
Her research interests emphasize the intersection of societal factors and mental health outcomes, particularly in vulnerable populations. She actively engages in violence prevention strategies and advocates for community-driven methodologies to ensure equitable health interventions.
