María Ana Sáenz Nuño

Dr. María Ana Sáenz Nuño is an Assistant Professor in the Bioengineering Department at the School of Engineering, Comillas Pontifical University, and a key researcher at the Technological Research Institute (IIT). She has been actively contributing since 2003 and specializes in dimensional and health metrology.

Research Interests: Her primary focus lies in Dimensional Metrology, particularly surface texture characterization and ISO standards. She has significantly advanced Health Metrology, working on diagnostic imaging, electrocardiography, and blood pressure measurement reliability. She also explores educational innovation using augmented reality and gamification to teach metrology and standardization.

Her recent publications (2023–2025) reflect a strong interdisciplinary trend, combining metrology with biomechanics, sustainable manufacturing, and medical diagnostics. She frequently publishes in journals such as Measurement: Sensors, Coatings, and e-medida, often addressing standardization gaps and traceability in healthcare and industry.
