Marylise Duperthuy

Marylise Duperthuy is an Assistant Professor at the University of Montreal, affiliated with the Department of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Immunology. Her research focuses on bacterial interactions, particularly the modulation of virulence and antimicrobial resistance in Vibrio species.

Dr. Duperthuy investigates how Vibrio bacteria interact with marine hosts like the Pacific oyster and how antimicrobial peptides influence virulence and resistance mechanisms. Her work spans molecular microbiology, host-pathogen interactions, and bacterial pathogenesis.

Her publications reveal expertise in Vibrio cholerae pathogenesis, type VI secretion systems, biofilm dynamics, and antimicrobial resistance. Research topics include bacterial virulence modulation, microbiota interactions, and resistance mechanisms against host defenses.
