Marygrace Berberian is Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Graduate Art Therapy Program at NYU Steinhardt. Her work focuses on community-based art therapy, particularly school interventions for at-risk youth and neurorehabilitation for Parkinson's patients. She received the Rawley Silver Research Award for her innovative approaches.
Berberian's research examines art therapy's neurological benefits, including improved visuospatial function in degenerative diseases. She has developed therapeutic frameworks for resilient youth and crisis-affected communities, documented in her co-edited book Art Therapy Practices for Resilient Youth.
Her research projects include collaborations with neurology departments on Parkinson's interventions and public school mental health programs across New York State.
