Dr. Maryam Lotfi is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) of Sustainable Supply Chain Management at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University. She serves as Deputy Head of Section Research, Impact, and Innovation and co-founded the Modern Slavery and Social Sustainability Research Group. Her work bridges academia and policy, with roles on the British Standards Institute's Modern Slavery Committee and the Slavery and Trafficking Risk Template Development Committee.
- Research Focus: Social sustainability in supply chains, modern slavery, workers’ rights, gender equality, and DEI.
- Teaching: Module leader for Supply Chain Social Sustainability and Sustainability for Business at MSc level; Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Recent Publications emphasize modern slavery risk management, asset-light business models, and intersections with climate change, with articles in Production Planning and Control, Tourism Management, and Journal of Cleaner Production.

Supervision and Grants: Supervises PhD/MSc students on modern slavery, DEI, and technology in supply chains. Secured £200,000+ in funding from ESRC, Global Wales, and Cardiff University for projects with NGOs, governments, and global universities.
