Mary Unger-Boyd, DC, DICS, CACCP is an Associate Professor at Logan University, where she has taught Sacro Occipital Technic (SOT®), Logan Basic Methods, Pediatrics, and myofascial techniques since 1997. She is affiliated with the Doctor of Chiropractic program within the university's College of Chiropractic.
Dr. Unger-Boyd graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1997 and has earned several prestigious certifications:
- Certified Craniopathic from Sacro Occipital Research Society International (SORSI) in 2005
- Diplomat with the International Craniopathic Society (ICS) in 2010
- Certification from the Academy of Family Practice and Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP) in 2011
Her research primarily focuses on chiropractic applications for women's health throughout the life cycle, pediatric chiropractic care, and the biomechanics of the sacroiliac joint. Dr. Unger-Boyd's work often explores the relationship between spinal alignment and physiological function, particularly in pregnancy and women's health contexts. She has made significant contributions to understanding how chiropractic care can support normal physiological processes during the female life cycle, with her most recent publication in 2022 examining the female life cycle and chiropractic care.
Dr. Unger-Boyd has received notable recognition for her work, including:
- "Researcher of the Year" from SORSI (2011)
- "International Chiropractor of the Year" by the International Craniopathic Society and SORSI (2021)
She has served on the Board of Directors for SORSI and on the Academic Advisory Board of the Academy of Family Chiropractic, and has lectured extensively on SOT® Methods and Pediatrics for SORSI. In addition to her academic responsibilities, Dr. Unger-Boyd maintains a private practice in the St. Louis area, allowing her to integrate clinical experience with her teaching.
