Professor Mary Taylor is a faculty member in the College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences at Clemson University, with affiliation to the Institute for Engaged Aging. She holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron, an MS in Applied Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a BS in Psychology from Western Kentucky University. Her research focuses on minority groups, disabled individuals, and older workers in employment contexts, collaborating with organizations like the ADA Director of Charleston, AARP Foundation, and Goodwill. She has pioneered hybrid course development funded by the Office of Undergraduate Research.
Her research interests include retirement adaptation, older worker inclusion, and challenges faced by minority groups in employment. Notable publications address technological training for older workers, cognitive function in aging workforces, and financial factors influencing retiree satisfaction. Awards include the 2019 Difference Maker Award and the 2011 SIOP LGBT Research Award. Her teaching innovations include hybrid course models emphasizing technology in education.
Her work bridges academia and real-world practice, addressing systemic issues in aging workforce management and workplace diversity.
