Dr. Mary Prentice is an Associate Professor of Government at the Helms School of Government, Liberty University. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida, an M.S. in Library Science from Clarion University, and a B.A. in Political Science from Furman University.
Her research interests span American foreign policy, political geography, international relations, and comparative governments. Notably, she focuses on the intersection of faith and U.S. foreign policy, national security law, and regional studies including East Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Dr. Prentice has held roles in diplomacy and foreign policy, including work at the Fulbright Scholar office in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Embassy in Ghana, and the Ford Foundation in Zimbabwe. She also contributed to emergency management in Leon County, Florida. Her teaching career covers both undergraduate and graduate levels in international relations.
