Mary K Bercaw Edwards is a Professor of English and Maritime Studies at the University of Connecticut’s Avery Point campus. She is a founding member of the Melville Society Cultural Project and serves as co-director of the digital humanities initiative 'Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick and the World of Whaling in the Digital Age,' supported by a National Endowment for the Humanities grant.
