Dr. Mary Huntimer is an adjunct saxophone instructor at Meredith College and the Cary School of Music, specializing in performance and music education. She actively performs with ensembles such as the Tresidig Trio, Triangle Wind Ensemble, and Chapel Hill Philharmonia. Her research focuses on the saxophone's role in opera, including its historical development as a solo instrument and the contributions of early 20th-century women saxophonists.
