Dr. Mary Hartog is an academic staff member at Middlesex University, serving as Practice Director in the Business Knowledge Transfer Management department within the Faculty of Business and Law. She holds a PhD from the University of Bath (2004) and has been at Middlesex since 1990, previously serving as Senior Lecturer, Principal Lecturer, and Head of Department. Her research focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning, particularly in professional practice and leadership development.
Dr. Hartog leads the DBA in Healthcare Leadership and the Coaching Professional Programme, supervising doctoral students in transdisciplinary programmes. She has received a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship (2006) and is a Fellow of CIPD and Principal Teaching Fellow at HEA. Her work includes creating bespoke leadership programs for external organizations, such as the London Ambulance Service’s Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management Practice.
Her publications span leadership development, organizational ethics, and diversity management. She has contributed to international initiatives, including the British Council Leadership Development Programme in India.
