Dr. Mary Golinski is an Associate Professor and Nurse Anesthesia Assistant Director at Oakland University’s School of Nursing. She holds a PhD in Education Evaluation and Research from Wayne State University and is a nationally recognized Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (FAANA). Her clinical practice includes roles at a Level 1 Detroit trauma hospital and a free-standing endoscopy facility.
Dr. Golinski’s research focuses on optimizing anesthesia outcomes through advanced techniques, pharmacology, technology, and quality processes. She explores strategies to prevent chronic postsurgical pain and address healthcare disparities in anesthesia care. Her work emphasizes evidence-based practices and educational innovations, including blended POCUS curricula and regional anesthesia safety protocols.
Her notable contributions include a 2021 study on magnesium sulphate in lumbar surgery pain management and analyses of closed claims to improve patient safety. She is affiliated with the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology and the Michigan Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
Dr. Golinski actively collaborates with graduate students, contributing to peer-reviewed publications that drive advancements in anesthesia education and clinical practice. Her work bridges clinical innovation with systemic improvements in healthcare delivery and safety.
