She has three primary research goals: improving the lives of cancer patients through new combination treatments, adapting radiation treatments based on early changes in blood and imaging tests, and testing advanced technologies in radiotherapy. Her work bridges clinical practice with translational research, with particular emphasis on liver tumors, pancreatic cancer, and anal cancer.
Dr. Feng's publication record demonstrates a strong focus on radiation oncology with particular emphasis on gastrointestinal cancers, advanced imaging techniques for treatment planning, and personalized radiation therapy approaches. Her research spans technical innovations in radiation delivery, clinical outcomes analysis, and health services research related to cancer care. Over time, her work has increasingly incorporated advanced imaging, artificial intelligence, and big data approaches to optimize radiation therapy for abdominal cancers.
