Mary Dockter, PhD, is the current Dean of the Saint Gianna School of Health Sciences at the University of Mary. Previously, she served as Director of Clinical Education for the Physical Therapy Program and Department Chair (2010-2020). A lifelong North Dakota resident, she transitioned from clinical physical therapy practice to higher education. Her expertise includes women's health physical therapy, professional practice challenges, leadership, and service-learning initiatives. She completed an APTA Fellowship in Education Leadership (2012) and holds certifications including the National Catholic Bioethics Center Certification (2024).
- Education: PhD in Health Sciences from University of North Dakota (2004), MEd from University of Mary (2000), BS in Physical Therapy from University of North Dakota (1989).
- Service: Led 15 service-learning teams to Guatemala and Peru. Active in local and national healthcare boards.
Her research and professional focus emphasize integrating faith-based values into healthcare education and leadership. Dockter’s commitment to servant leadership is reflected in her guiding philosophy: 'A life worth living is a life spent in service to others.'
