Dr. Mary Davis is an Associate Professor in Urban & Environmental Policy & Planning and Senior Associate Vice Provost for Education at Tufts University. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Florida and an associate’s degree in nursing from Bunker Hill Community College. Her research focuses on labor economics, public health, and nursing, examining topics such as gig economy worker health, occupational risks for fishermen, and nurse labor markets. She has held research appointments at Harvard School of Public Health, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and Boston University. Her 2024 book Jobs, Health, and the Meaning of Work explores the intersection of work and well-being globally.
