Mary Dakim

Mary Dakim is a Lecturer in the Department of Business at Gallaudet University's Civic Leadership, Business and Social Change school. She specializes in teaching courses like Business Communication, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Management. Her research interests include economic education for social workers, institutional compensation systems, and advocacy for Deaf communities. She has received an NSF grant for community-based economic literacy initiatives.

Mary actively participates in university governance through roles in the Faculty Senate and committees such as the Honor Program review board. She has advised numerous undergraduate students since 2020, with peak advising loads of 9 students in 2023/02 and 8 in 2024/01.
