Mary D. Curtis is a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Marine and Coastal Environmental Science at Texas A&M University at Galveston. Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Geography/Geography Education from Texas State University (2015), an M.S. in Instructional Technology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake (2004), and a B.A. in Political Science from Texas A&M University (1997).
Her research focuses on geography education, geospatial technologies, STEM integration, and social studies pedagogy. She explores innovative teaching methods and the application of technology in educational settings, with particular emphasis on inquiry-based learning and equity in education.
Dr. Curtis's publications predominantly address geography education, technology integration, and teacher preparation, reflecting her commitment to improving educational outcomes through evidence-based practices. Her work consistently emphasizes practical applications for K-12 classrooms and teacher professional development.
