Mary Casey is a Senior Lecturer in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study & Human Development at Tufts University. She has been affiliated with the School of Arts and Sciences since 2011, holding the position of Lecturer until 2022, when she advanced to Senior Lecturer. Her research focuses on parent-child relations, child development, and social dynamics, with notable work on topics such as teacher knowledge about dyslexia and moral development in diverse contexts.
Dr. Casey holds an EdD and EdM in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University (2001 and 1993, respectively), and a BA in English with Education Certification from Salem State University (1977). She has been actively involved in teaching and mentoring, instructing courses like 'Parent Child Relations,' 'Inquiry and Analysis in CSHD,' and 'Senior Honors Thesis.'
Her professional activities include presentations at conferences such as the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Association for Moral Education. She currently teaches a wide range of courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, reflecting her expertise in child study and human development.
