Mary Beth Williams is the Acting Dean of the Eberly College of Science and a Professor of Chemistry at Pennsylvania State University. She also holds the James and Alvina Balog Faculty Fellowship in Science. Her roles include Senior Associate Dean for Science Education within the Eberly College of Science.
Education: B.A. from St. John Fisher College (1994), Ph.D. from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1999).
Research focuses on analytical chemistry, inorganic materials, and nanoscience, with emphasis on supramolecular systems, biomimetic materials, and magnetic nanoparticles. Her work bridges molecular design and functional nanomaterials, addressing applications in separation techniques, luminescent materials, and chemical functionality control.
Publications highlight advancements in peptide assembly, magnetic nanoparticle behavior, and coordination chemistry. Her administrative contributions include shaping science education strategies at the institutional level.
