Mary Anne Chambers is a Senior Fellow at York University’s Glendon School of Public and International Affairs and a Governor of Canada’s International Development Research Centre. With a distinguished career spanning private enterprise (former Senior Vice-President of Scotiabank) and public service (Ontario Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities; Minister of Children and Youth Services), she has held leadership roles including Chair of United Way of Canada and Vice-Chair of the University of Toronto Governing Council.
Her professional focus centers on public policy, international development, youth development, education policy, community development, and health policy. Chambers has personally funded scholarships for over 50 Ontario students and co-founded the IMANI Academic Mentorship Program with the University of Toronto Scarborough, supporting hundreds of youth through academic advising.
Her major honors include:

- Governor General of Canada’s Meritorious Service Medal
- Queen Elizabeth II Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals
- Prime Minister of Jamaica’s Medal of Appreciation
- University of the West Indies Vice-Chancellor’s Award

Chambers has contributed to academic governance as a board member of the University of Guelph, University of Toronto, and Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, while maintaining active roles with YMCA Toronto, Cuso International, and the Air Cadet League of Canada.
