Dr. Mary Alt is a Professor and Department Head of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona. She directs the L4 Lab, focusing on word learning, concept learning, and bilingualism. Her research integrates experimental and clinical approaches to understand how children acquire language and concepts, with a particular emphasis on bilingual populations and children with developmental language disorders. Dr. Alt holds certifications from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a licensed speech-language pathologist in Arizona.
