Dr. Martyn Bracewell is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at Bangor University's School of Psychology and Sport Science. He holds leadership roles as Director of the BSc Neuropsychology program and Lead for Neurology in the North Wales Medical School. He is a Consultant Neurologist at the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, and Noble's Hospital, Isle of Man, with over 20 years of experience in general adult neurology. His subspecialty interests include Epilepsy, Neuro-Ophthalmology, and Behavioral Neurology.
Dr. Bracewell's education includes a BA in Physiological Sciences (Medicine) and MA from Magdalen College Oxford, a PhD from MIT, and medical qualifications (BM, BCh) from Oxford University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in both Edinburgh and London. His research spans neuroscience and clinical medicine, focusing on Parkinson's Disease, cerebellar function, and neurofeedback interventions. He has led several research projects, including the Wales Epilepsy Research Network and studies on motor dysfunction in neurological disorders.
His academic contributions include teaching in Behavioral Neurology and supervising research projects. He collaborates on interdisciplinary studies and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications across journals like Neurology, PLoS ONE, and Cerebellum.
