Martina Summer Meranius

Martina Summer Meranius is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in Caring Science at Mälardalen University's School of Health, Care and Social Welfare. She leads the Person-centered Care and Communication research group with Professor Holmström and supervises doctoral candidates investigating dementia caregiving and emergency nursing. Her doctoral thesis examined lived experiences of older adults with multimorbidity.

Research Focus: Dr. Meranius specializes in gerontological care with dual emphasis on (1) Multimorbidity management and healthcare experiences among older populations, and (2) Dementia care dynamics including spousal caregiver support systems. Her emergency care research examines fundamental care delivery for critically ill patients.
