معرفی
Prof. Martin von Bergen is a Professor of Functional Proteomics at the University of Leipzig's Faculty of Life Sciences and Head of the Department of Molecular Toxicology at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ). His research focuses on cellular responses to environmental pollutants, systems biology approaches using proteomics and metabolomics, and microbiome biology. He leads a multidisciplinary team exploring molecular pathways in environmental health and toxicology. Key affiliations include the University of Leipzig and UFZ, with prior roles at Aalborg University (part-time) and the Max Planck Institute.
Research interests include toxicoproteomics, functional metabolomics, and microbial community analysis. Notable projects include the MetaPro initiative and studies on ecotoxicology, environmental immunology, and cell toxicology. His work integrates multi-omics data to understand exposure scenarios and develop methods for proteomics and metabolomics.
Publications (2025–2024) highlight advancements in glyphosate effects, thyroid toxicity, food additive impacts, and nanoplastic toxicity. Collaborations span institutions globally, with a focus on environmental health and translational research. Ongoing initiatives include the Healthy Planet program and projects like MibiTox and nanoINHALE.
