Martin Wild

Prof. Dr. Martin Wild is Co-Department Head at Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), leading the Department of Social Systems. He holds roles as Deputy Head of Department, Head of Social Systems Department, and Head of Research. His professional experience spans leadership positions in education and social work since 1998, including roles at the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training and the Northwest Switzerland University of Teacher Education.

Educational background includes a Doctorate in Education (2004, University of Freiburg), Licentiate in Pedagogy (1995, University of Bern), and teaching certifications. He undertook a sabbatical in 2016 at universities in the US and England.

Research focuses on social policy, welfare systems, and higher education management. He chairs the Swiss Association for Social Policy and serves on boards of Caritas Bern and the City of Bern Social Assistance Commission. Internal BFH roles include membership in Research Commission and Sustainability Development Committee.
