Dr Martin Weber is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Political Science and International Studies within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at The University of Queensland. His research bridges International Social and Political Theory, Environmental Politics, and Political Ecology (PE/IPE), with a focus on Critical Theory's applications in International Political Theory and the 'social turn' in IR. He holds a Master’s Degree from Universität Stuttgart and a PhD from the University of Southampton.

Weber’s work critically examines how Critical Theory addresses normative developments in IR, global governance (health and environment), and the limitations of relational and social turn approaches. His teaching includes courses on Environmental Politics, International Relations Theories, and Environmental Change politics. Recent publications explore topics like the Sustainable Development Goals, global health governance, and postcolonial IR frameworks.
Dr Weber supervises PhD projects in Social and Political Theory, Global Governance, Political Ecologies, and transnational political systems. He has secured UQ travel and equipment grants for international collaborative research (2010–2012) and early-career initiatives (2009). As a media expert, he contributes to discussions on Environmental Politics, Global Health, and Social Movements.
