Martin Schiller is an Associate Professor in Geochemistry at the Globe Institute, Centre for Star and Planet Formation at the University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on understanding the earliest evolution of our Solar System through high-precision isotope ratio measurements in extraterrestrial materials.
Dr. Schiller's primary research interests include the application of major element isotope systematics to link the meteoritic record to astrophysical theories and models of terrestrial planet formation, the short-lived isotope chronology of early Solar System solids, and high precision isotope measurements in terrestrial samples such as magnesium and calcium isotope records in speleothems. His work bridges cosmochemistry, planetary science, and geochemistry to unravel the formation and evolution of planetary systems.
His recent research has examined calcium isotope evidence for early Solar System condensates, magnesium-iron-calcium isotope signatures of impact spherules, redox evolution of planetary mantles, and presolar heritage of titanium and aluminum isotopes in the protoplanetary disk. This work demonstrates his expertise in using isotope systems as tracers of fundamental processes in planetary formation and evolution.
