Dr. Martin Sauvageau is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at Université de Montréal and Director of the RNA and Noncoding Disease Mechanisms Laboratory at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM). His research focuses on understanding the role of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in development and diseases, aiming to develop RNA-based therapies. He holds affiliations with IRCM, The RNA Society, and the Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society.
- Affiliations: Université de Montréal, IRCM, The RNA Society
- Grants: CIHR, NSERC, FRQS, CFI, MEI, IRCM Foundation
- Labs: RNA and Noncoding Disease Mechanisms Laboratory
His research combines functional genomics, CRISPR-based genome editing, and biochemistry to study lncRNA functions. Key areas include lncRNA-protein interactions, molecular grammar of lncRNAs, and translational applications in therapies.
