Prof. Dr. Martin Pudlik holds a Professorship in Renewable Energy Economics at the University for Applied Sciences of Bingen (since 2016) and is a Senior Researcher at Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI (since 2012). His work focuses on energy policy, spatial economic analysis, and renewable energy integration. He specializes in GIS applications, energy market modeling, and structural change analyses in regions like Germany, Poland, and the US.
Education: MSc in Economic Geography (RWTH Aachen), MSc in Business Economics and Economics (University Hagen/RWTH Aachen), PhD in Economic Spatial Analysis with GIS (RWTH Aachen). Visiting scholar at University of Pittsburgh.
Research interests include renewable energy policy design, grid infrastructure strategies, and economic impacts of energy transitions. Notable projects include the ASEAN Energy Outlook, Gobitec Asian Supergrid analysis, and Desertec Initiative studies.
He has advised international organizations like the European Commission, World Bank, and KfW on energy policy frameworks. His presentations span global forums from Pyongyang to Tokyo, addressing challenges in renewable energy implementation and energy poverty mitigation.
