معرفی
Professor Martin Palmer is a Professor of Geochemistry at the University of Southampton, affiliated with the School of Ocean and Earth Science and the Department of Geochemistry. His research focuses on isotope geochemistry, magmatic processes, and tephra diagenesis. He leads projects such as 'The impact of submarine diagenesis' and 'Lithium for Future Technology - LiFT,' collaborating with researchers like Thomas Gernon and Damon Teagle.
His work spans studies of boron, titanium, and barium isotopes in minerals, magma dynamics, and environmental geochemistry. Recent publications highlight advancements in understanding isotope fractionation, fluid evolution in porphyry deposits, and submarine volcanism impacts on carbon cycles.
Professor Palmer currently supervises PhD students Morgan Bugler and Jessica Rawlings. He is involved in interdisciplinary research groups and has contributed to major initiatives like the NERC Capital call and the IODP cruise program.
His research emphasizes the interplay between solid Earth processes and environmental systems, with applications to mineral resource exploration and climate history reconstruction.
