Dr. Martin Moore is a Senior Lecturer in Political Communication and Director of the Centre for the Study of Media, Communication and Power at King’s College London. He joined in 2018 after serving as a Senior Research Fellow and previously as the founding director of the Media Standards Trust (MST), which won the Prospect Think Tank of the Year Award (2011) and a Knight News Challenge award (2008). He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics (2004) and has extensive experience in media and communications, including roles at the BBC, Channel 4, and NTL.
His research focuses on political communication, technology platforms, journalism, digital dominance, media regulation, and democracy. Notable works include analyses of local news in elections, social media fake accounts, and geopolitical media dynamics. He has authored books such as *Democracy Hacked* (2018) and edited volumes on regulating Big Tech and digital dominance.
Key affiliations include the History and Political Economy Research Group, the Centre for Digital Culture, and the Centre for British Democracy. His recent work emphasizes auditing social media accounts, tracking state-sponsored misinformation, and addressing democratic challenges posed by digital platforms. Grants include the *Tracking State-Sponsored Misinformation* project (2017–2018) funded by the Open Society Foundations.
