- Ph.D. in Social and Cultural Anthropology, EHESS
Martin's work explores how Chinese populations adapt to and transform spaces influenced by European/North American architectural models. His ethnographic studies emphasize urban heritage, cultural hybridity, and changing habitation practices in metropolitan China.
His research intersects with critical heritage theory, urban studies, and cross-cultural analysis, particularly in relation to gentrification and local appropriation of heritage.
