Dr. Martin MacInnis is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary, leading the Molecular, Environmental, and Exercise Physiology (MEEP) Lab. He holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia (2014) and a B.Sc. in Biology from Cape Breton University (2009). His research focuses on understanding how physiological systems adapt to acute and chronic exercise stimuli, particularly mechanisms regulating skeletal muscle mitochondria density, red blood cell volume, and responses to hypoxia, biological sex, and carbohydrate availability.
