معرفی
Prof. Dr. Martin Ludwig Niessen is an Associate Professor at the TUM School of Life Sciences, Technische Universität München (TUM). His research focuses on food mycology, particularly fungal contamination risks in food and beverages, including mycotoxin production and gushing in carbonated drinks. He specializes in rapid molecular detection methods for pathogens.
Education: Studied biology at RWTH Aachen University, specializing in mycology and plant physiology. Received his doctorate (1993) and habilitation (2002) at TUM. Served as a private lecturer (2002–2010) before becoming an Associate Professor in 2010.
Research interests include fungal genetics, mycotoxin impact on consumer health, and microbial contamination in brewing processes. His work emphasizes innovative diagnostic techniques like LAMP (loop-mediated isothermal amplification) for food safety.
Publications highlight advancements in detecting aflatoxins, understanding hydrophobin proteins in gushing, and mycotoxin gene clusters. His contributions have earned awards such as the Brigitte Gedek Science Prize (2018) and the Stockmeyer Science Prize (1999).
No specific grants or student advising information is provided here. His research aligns with TUM’s focus on life sciences and food microbiology, contributing to both academic and industrial applications.
