Dr. Martin Leibowitz is the Joseph Kerzner Chair in Accounting and an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Sy Syms School of Business, Yeshiva University. He has been a full-time faculty member since 1995 and has received multiple 'Professor of the Year' awards. His expertise spans auditing, financial accounting, accounting education, and capital markets. Prior to academia, he worked as a CPA in public practice for 18 years, including as Audit Manager at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and as head of his own firm.
Education: PhD in Accounting from Columbia University (1997), MPhil from Columbia University (1996), and BS from Pennsylvania State University (1971).
Research and teaching focus on auditing methodologies, financial reporting, and educational strategies in accounting. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Financial Statement Analysis, Issues in Accounting Education, and Journal of Accountancy.
