Michael Strauss serves as Interim Dean, Clinical Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneur-In-Residence, and Director of The Rennert Entrepreneurial Institute at Yeshiva University's Sy Syms School of Business. He has held roles as Associate Dean (2011-2017) and Interim Dean (2017-2019). Strauss is based at both the Wilf campus (Belfer Hall, Room 416) and Beren campus (215 Lexington Ave, Room 319). He holds an MBA from Baruch College (1967) and a BBA from City College of New York.
His teaching focuses on entrepreneurship, business leadership, and turnaround strategies. Notable courses include 'Turn Around Business Strategy' and 'Swimming with the Sharks' for high school students. His professional background includes executive roles at American Express, American Airlines, and CitiGroup, alongside CEO positions in turnaround management.
Community involvement includes founding roles at the Long Island Museum of Science and Technology, Cristo Rey Academy, and the Long Island Software and Technology Network. He currently chairs ExecuLeaders Forum for Marketing and Sales and serves on local governance boards.
