Prof. dr. Martin Junginger is a Full Professor of Bio-Based Economy at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University. His work focuses on international bioenergy trade, biomass logistics, and technological learning in renewable energy systems.

Scientific Leadership: Former leader of IEA Bioenergy Task 40 (2013-2018), Civil Society Co-chair of SBP Standards Committee (2019-2023), and member of the Corbey Commission (2013-2015) advising Dutch Parliament on biomass sustainability.
Academic Contributions: Editor of three key books on bioenergy trade and forest bioenergy systems. Supervised 21 PhD students (6 co-promotorships, 15 promotorships) and over 50 Master's students. Co-authored >130 peer-reviewed journal articles (H-index 49) and >120 reports/conference papers.
Teaching & Outreach: Leads master courses 'Bio-Based Economy' and 'Toolbox 1 - Environmental Assessment'. Organized international workshops in 10+ countries and contributed to IPCC Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources.
