Prof. Martin Jinek is a Full Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Zurich (UZH), leading the Jinek Group. He joined UZH in 2013 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Full Professor in 2024. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of protein-RNA interactions, CRISPR-Cas systems, and gene editing. He holds a PhD from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and completed postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley with Jennifer Doudna.
