Martin Hällsten is Professor of Sociology at Stockholm University, affiliated with the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI). His research focuses on social stratification, economic inequality, and intergenerational mobility, with particular emphasis on educational pathways, ethnic disparities, and the mechanisms of social reproduction. He leads the Level of Living (LNU) research group, which studies longitudinal changes in social and economic conditions.
