Martin Gustavsson is a Swedish artist and former Senior Lecturer of painting at Konstfack in Stockholm (until 2024). His work explores queer desire, performance, and painting techniques, interrogating how brushstrokes and materials subvert traditional art conventions. He holds degrees from The Royal Institute of Art (Stockholm, 1994-96) and Middlesex University (UK, 1990-94).
- Research focuses on homoerotic art, queer performativity, and the legacy of artist Ian White.
- Key exhibitions include The Eye of the Minotaur (2023), Un Chant Ecarlate (2019), and participation in the Dakar Biennial (2018).
