Martin Fröhlich

Dr. Martin Fröhlich is a Lecturer at the Careum University of Applied Sciences for Health, School of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. Since April 2023, he has headed the Bachelor's program in Nursing. He also serves as a lecturer at the Z-INA Higher Technical College for Intensive Care, Emergency, and Anesthesia Nursing in Zurich since 2011.

• Education: Part-time studies in health and nursing sciences at Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg (2005–2010); PhD in health and nursing sciences (2013–2021).

His research focuses on intensive care nursing, pain assessment in cognitively impaired ICU patients, and clinical nursing science. He has contributed to methodologies like the Zurich Observation Pain Assessment (ZOPA©) and emphasizes mixed methods research.

Notable honors include graduating Magna cum Laude for his PhD dissertation. He has extensive professional experience in anesthesia, emergency departments, operating rooms, and intensive care units across Germany and Switzerland.
