Martin Fränzle

Prof. Dr. Martin Fränzle is a Professor at the Department of Computer Science of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and Head of the Foundations and Applications of Systems of Cyber-Physical Systems division since April 2022. He is affiliated with Faculty II Informatics, Economics and Law and has held leadership roles in multiple research projects.

• Education: Studied computer science, mathematics, and logic at Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel (1983-1991), earning a doctorate in engineering (1997).
• Research Interests: Focus on modeling, verification, and synthesis of reactive, real-time, and hybrid discrete-continuous systems, including stochastic disturbance analysis and robust correctness certificates.
• Projects: Led the Transregional Collaborative Research Center SFB-TR 14 AVACS, coordinated the DFG Research Training Group SCARE, and contributed to industrial projects like IMoST (safe transportation) and SaLsA (autonomous logistics).
• Leadership: Served as Dean of Faculty II (2013-2015), Vice President for Research (2020-2021), and board member of interdisciplinary research centers.

Scientific Contributions: Extended bounded model checking to expressive temporal logics, developed SAT-modulo-theory techniques for arithmetic constraints, and pioneered symbolic analysis of probabilistic hybrid systems.
