Aiso Heinze

Prof. Dr. Aiso Heinze is Full Professor for Mathematics Education at the University of Kiel and Director of the Department of Mathematics Education at the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN) in Kiel. Her work focuses on mathematical competence development in elementary education, textbook effects, and transitions between school and university. She holds a PhD in Graph Theory/Algebraic Combinatorics and habilitation in Mathematics Education.

• 1997–2001: PhD in Graph Theory/Algebraic Combinatorics, University of Oldenburg
• 2005: Habilitation in Mathematics Education, Augsburg University

Her recent publications explore teacher perceptions of math prerequisites, arithmetic strategy development, and estimation skills. She has held leadership roles since 2008, including directorship at IPN and professorships at Kiel and Regensburg Universities.
