معرفی
Martin Centurion is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His research focuses on ultrafast electron diffraction and the imaging of molecular dynamics, particularly photodissociation and rotational wavepacket evolution. He has developed high-repetition-rate ultrafast electron diffraction techniques to achieve high spatiotemporal resolution for studying nuclear motions in molecules.
His recent publications (2024–2020) highlight advancements in liquid-phase and gas-phase electron diffraction, conformer-specific photochemistry, quantum state tomography, and relativistic electron beam applications. These works often involve collaborations across institutions and utilize tabletop electron guns, streak cameras, and high-energy electron pulses (MeV) to explore coherent nuclear motion and reaction mechanisms.
- Key research themes: Ultrafast phenomena, molecular structural dynamics, laser spectroscopy, quantum mechanics, and photodissociation.
- Technical innovations: High-repetition-rate electron diffraction, velocity matching with tilted pulses, and dispersion compensation for attosecond pulses.
