Cord Arnold

Cord Arnold serves as a Senior Lecturer in Atomic Physics at Lund University's Department of Physics within the Faculty of Engineering. He holds multiple leadership roles including Principal Investigator at NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience and membership in three strategic profile areas: Nanoscience and Semiconductor Technology, Photon Science and Technology, and Light and Materials.

His research pioneers ultrafast science with emphasis on ultrashort pulse laser generation, control, and characterization across infrared to extreme ultraviolet spectra. This work enables fundamental studies of light-matter interactions at femtosecond and attosecond timescales, with applications spanning advanced spectroscopy, quantum optics, and materials science. His contributions align with UN Sustainable Development Goals through innovations in clean energy technologies and scientific infrastructure.

Arnold's recent publications reveal a concentrated research trajectory toward developing high-repetition-rate light sources for time-resolved applications, with significant advancements in multi-pass cell technology, attosecond facility development, and quantum measurement techniques. His work demonstrates consistent innovation in scaling pulse energy while maintaining precision in ultrafast phenomena.

• XUVPM: Extreme ultraviolet ptychographic microscopy (Horizon Europe, 2024-2026) as supervisor
• Entanglement and decoherence in ultrafast electron spectroscopy (Wallenberg Foundation, 2023-2028) as CoI
• SISHOT: Single-shot laser pulse characterization (2022-2025) as researcher
• High-repetition-rate attosecond pulse sources (Swedish Research Council, 2022-2026) as Principal Investigator

Arnold collaborates extensively through NanoLund and the newly established Attohallen facility, Sweden's dedicated attosecond science infrastructure, where he contributes to developing next-generation light sources for quantum and materials research.
