معرفی
Dr. Martijn Pallandt is a PhD candidate at the International Max Planck Research School for Global Biogeochemical Cycles, affiliated with the Universität Hamburg (Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences) and based at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry in Jena, Germany. His research focuses on Arctic and marine environments, analyzing drivers of the carbon cycle, catastrophic ecosystem changes, and representativeness metrics for greenhouse gas monitoring networks. He contributes to open science initiatives and technical innovations like the automatic flask sampler.
- Education: MSc in Climate Studies (Wageningen University & Research), BSc in Biology (Wageningen University & Research), Minor in Marine Biology (University of Groningen, NIOZ).
His current projects include INTAROS (EU-funded Arctic observation system) and past collaborations like ICOS-INWIRE and NASA's CARVE mission. Fieldwork includes installations in Siberia and Greenland, with a focus on harsh Arctic conditions. Pallandt emphasizes programming and data collection under extreme environments.
He co-organized the 2019 Open Access Ambassador Conference and contributed to the Arctic Carbon Flux Interactive Database, a collaboration with the Ted Schuur Lab. Pallandt also developed triggered sampling protocols for GHG monitoring using environmental sensors.
